AJ, can you help undestand 4.0b, please - 06/04/03 01:14 PM

I would like to understand SD1ORG.EXE, PBANKNS1.EXE, PBANKNS2.EXE and PBANKNS3.EXE files if you can comment them briefly, please.
How do we get 4.0 sounds back after we follow the procedure for 3.0 sounds? Do we just load 0Flash.rld and 0Standard.rld or something else? How this switch function works?
I'm glad you managed to improve polyphony!
Thanks for your help!

Luka,

SD1ORG.exe - this is the file that is used for the operating system of the keyboard. It is responsible for all actions and reactions that occure on the keyboard in terms of fuctions and responses.

PBANKNS (PBank with NoSound). These are files used to setup the styles to run with the original sounds of the SD1 and NOT the sounds designed for 4.0.

To get 4.0 sounds back, go to the STANDARD folder you previously created and load the 2 files associated with the extentions (*.rld and *.sty). They should be here from the previous download and copying you did.

Thanks,

AJ

Thanks AJ!
Can I ask you also if SD1STAN.EXE and SD1ORG.EXE are the same files? Can I load 3.0 sounds if I use SD1STAN.EXE upgrade only?

Luka,

Nope - they are not the same files.

Yes - if you use SD1STAN.exe PLUS the 3 associated PBankSN exe. files (No Sound configeration).

Thanks,

AJ

Sorry AJ to bother you with those questions, but more that I understand about SD1 more comfortable I feel.
What is actually the difference between SD1STAN.EXE and SD1ORG.EXE programs?

And do you have perhaps some hints about polyphony:
Could it be that in 4.0 there are some new settings like effect's or some controller that could affect polyphony in any way? I can't understand, why I get better results with 3.0 release than with 4.0b with old sounds?
I can imagine 4.0 sounds are richer and more demanding, but 3.0 sounds should behave the same as before.
What do I do wrong? Other users don't seem to have drop outs any more.

Thank you for being so patient with us!
Luka
