Ive been getting this error for about 2 days now, every time I try to load a pat. it says pat 7.check-sum error.
what does this mean?
is the OS how could I fix this?

Looks like some 'static electricity' might have 'messed up' the pattern memory. You might have to save all the styles you have to disk, FORMAT the pattern memory and reload the styles once more. If you have the Pattern Expansion chip installed, that should be formatted as well (leave in the unit when you go to format the pattern memory).
Format is under the PATTERN EDIT menu.

Not sure if this is relevant but I get exactly the same message when I try to load a pattern into my XD9. These are patterns that originallly came from the SD1 - most of them load OK but there are certain ones that allways fail with that error message.
If you load a block of patterns with one of these included then none of them will work.
Try to load them individually until you indentify the rogue pattern(s).
