I was at NAMM show this past January. The Retail price for the SD5 was announced at $2995.00 with a street price of $2400.00.

"Hi !!! My name is Rikki and I am a keyboardaholic"

Hey Rikki isn't it just 3-4 months ago you bought your SD-1 ???? You can almost taste that new SD-2 can't you ??

Just kidding you Rikki. I just couldn't stop myself. I actually understand it completely

Hi Nigel,
if the cap fits, wear it haa haa.
Steve Prestwick (Cold Chisel) called me one too, sooo I'll take it as as a compliment.
I have been trying to reform, but I haven't managed to find a keyboardaholic's anonymous.

Actually the name sd2 is a bit misleading, it sounds like a replacement for my keyboard, but it's only a pocket size sound module, sounds like it could go well with the new laptop hubby's buying for my birtday.

best wishes
Rikki

OK that explains it. That sounds like a very cool tone module to use with a laptop. I was thinking it was a bit soon to be looking for a replacement for the SD-1. By they way how is that keyboard working out for you. Do you find it covers all the features, styles and sounds you were used to with the Technics keyboards you used to use ?

Hi Nigel,
it's a great keyboard. Got some features the technics didn't have & vice versa.
The latin styles on the sd are particularly good. I do miss some of my technics styles though, i had some great bigband & movie styles, Id collected over the years.

Still, for the last couple of years I've been tweaking omb/psr styles, so when I get my new laptop ( rikki 2006 arranger system had a meltdown, I cooked my laptop a few weeks ago)
With my new laptop, I'll revive my softsynth arranger system. Still luv the idea of a software arranger system. But it's also great to have a keyboard I could just sit down & play & not have to tweak styles for,
unless I want to.

best wishes
Rikki
