KST and PAT - 03/12/22 06:13 AM

Not having a Ketron Product, what is the difference between KST and PAT ?

Are PAT still used ?

Can you install a PAT into the newer boards ?

What is SNG ?

Thanks

PAT is the earlier format for Ketron and KST is the later format. Depending which board you have it should convert these files within. I have an SD7 and it converts Pat to KST

Hi.
The .PAT file was in X1, X4, SD1, SD5, Wega, and all Audya series.
On the other hand the .KST started from SD7 and has been maintained on all models up to today.
KST it's much better than .PAT because it's similar to Yamaha styles (.STY) and with simple rename from .KST to .MID we can edit or create our own new styles on any daw (Cubase, Reaper, Logic etc) and subsequently the exported midi file (0) from daw with a simple rename again from .MID to .KST we just copy it on keyboard and are ready to play as style.
Of course we need to mix it and improve onboard.
