USERFS/HD

USERFS/HD - 06/16/21 12:08 AM

Hello

Accidentally without thinking, I formatted SD90 USERFS/HD using PC, instead of SD90 internal format, as a result, USERFS/HD disappeared from SD90 media. Once
SD90 connected to PC, it shows empty USERFS/HD.
Is there any chance to restore it back, or reinstall the USERFS/HD driver?
Any suggestion or advice? Thanks.

Dan, did you make a computer backup of your SD90 prior to this happening. If you did, all is not lost.

I think you need to format the user drive from within the SD90 and then reinstall your files from your computer.

If you did'nt keep a backup then I think you have a problem.

However, do not take my advice straight away, see if another player has better information than I have given you.

Hope all goes well.

Hi Alan

Thanks for your response, I didn't make a backup, and I can't format the user drive within SD90 because the user drive is no longer visible in SD90 media. I used to have a few
styles on user drive, which wasn't so important to me. All I need is to restore the user drive to its original state, without reinstalling any user styles or user voices.

Ok what you can do is this...
Disconnect the SD90 from the PC and reboot the SD90.
From the front panel - press the talk+xfade buttons. Press talk first and while holding the talk button and then press the xfade button ( top left).

You will be prompted to erase and to format the UserFs filesystem... select yes.

The UserFS is not a physical device, but rather what is called a loop device. It is a single file on the internal SSD that emulates a physical device. The above procedure will erase this file, recreate it and format it with the default folders/directories needed.

Let us know if this works for you..... more can be found here at the link below.

Hello Volovicg

Thank you very much for this little tip that cannot be found in the user manual.

I have a Ketron SD90 and would like to know if there are any other tips that can help us if there is a problem?

Thank you beforehand.

Best regards.

Hi Volovicg

I've got to tell you mate, you are a genius, it works perfectly, the user drive shows up in SD90 "Media "after I follow your instruction. Thank you so much.

Kind Regards

Re: USERFS/HD - 06/18/21 12:14 AM

Hello Volovicg.

Thank you for your reply.

I am French, I do not have a Facebook account. To follow your group, I have to use Google translate, and therefore navigate between the Facebook group and the translator by doing copy paste, it's not too practical. I cannot use the translation directly in Facebook since part of the page is in French and the other part of the page in English.

So my request was to find out if there were other button combinations on the SD90 that could solve other problems.

The French translation of the user manual is not always accurate and is not very complete.

Best regards.

Hi Volovicg

What kind of converter would you recommend to convert .pat styles (Audia-4) to.KST
style (SD90).

Kind Regards

Re: USERFS/HD - 06/18/21 04:57 AM

The Sd90 has the converter built in.
Press the media button and navigate to the .pat file
Double click it and a pop up will ask you if you want to convert to a .kst format.
When complete - copy the newly created .kst file to an appropriate user style folder
Easy right - no external utility required

Re: USERFS/HD - 06/18/21 06:28 AM

Hi Volovicg.

I've done this before, and one of the styles was giving me a problem, it didn't sound like it supposes to sound, so I thought there might be some other alternative to it. I used to have Audia 4 before.
I appreciate your advice, for which I'm very grateful.

Kind Regards ----Dan
