Removing SD7 case

Removing SD7 case - 04/08/20 11:40 AM

Does anybody know if there is a workshop diagram or manual to allow me to get to the inside of an SD7

Let me explain what has happened.

As I was moving my SD7 I knocked the rear USB socket and it has now disappeared inside the unit. I can still use the keyboard and use the file system via the USB ports on the front but obviously cannot connect it to a computer which is by far the easiest way.
I've removed all the screws from the bottom but cannot gain access to the inside and I am frightened to use too much force in case I damage it beyond repair.

Hope someone can help.

Alan,
I had to replace a speaker on one of my SD7 keyboards. What I remember is that you must be extremely careful and go slow when opening it so you do not do harm to the electrical connections. I might have the "how to" stuff AJ sent me. I'll look for them. You also might contact AJ via email.

Alan,
I found the directions with pictures on how to open your SD7. Send me your email and I will send it all to you.

Deane,

I did pm you yesterday but I'll repeat it here.

The stuff you sent was exactly what I wanted. However, I will not be attempting to open the SD7 because as you know, we are on this damn virus lockdown the same as you. The keyboard is working perfectly apart from not being able to connect to a computer and if I should damage anything whilst opening it I will not be able to take it to be repaired.

It could be months before I attempt a repair but rest assured, I will contact you and let you know how it went.

Thanks once again.

Deane,

this lockdown has gone on for so long I thought I should try and repair my SD7.

So, bought myself a very fine pointed soldering iron from Amazon and now my SD7 is back as new. I am now able to connect it to my computer.

So, once again, thank you for the instructions.

Alan.
