Converting Ketron styles

Converting Ketron styles - 05/07/18 06:42 AM

I'm just finding out about EMC Style Works XT Software. It's quite expensive at this point (about $475 to be able to convert all...) plus looks like there could be a steep learning curve. I just want the capability to convert some .pat files from my Ketron X4 to my Audya 4 and possibly my MidJay Pro. Mostly, I can work with the available styles that the Audya comes with, but there are a few songs where I enjoy that certain intro and/or ending specific to that song. Is there any other less expensive option out there for someone in my shoes?
Any thoughts?

Hi
I could see you have a 'twin thread' at GenArr, so I'll quote my reply from that thread:

Even if use EMC at the first step seem easy enough, there is a lot of work tweak and adjust to make it sound any good.
Have you been at Ketron's website and downloaded all the style-converts?
If I remember it correctly, Ketron made a lot of, if not all, legacy styles ready to play at Audya.

Hi.
EMC style works can not convert styles to Audya series format or Midjay Pro format. The last Ketron products covered are midjay / midjay + and SD3/SD5 keyboards.
For Audya series there is software Audya stile compiler - you can download it here: https://www.ketron.it/en/software/49-utilities/audya-style-compiler-1
MidjayPro can convert all of older styles in .PAT format by itself. You have to put the folder with styles on USB stick then select MEDIA - select the USB - open folder and select one style in .Pat format. The machine will display the message: Convert style [style name] into new KST style format giving you options: All folder / selected file/ cancel. Select All folder and it is done.

Hi,
I have the XT version of EMC, EMC is currently working on an update for AUDYA. You can, however convert all sorts of styles.
Best you convert the styles in Ketron SD1, then edit them in the Audya4.
If you then deposit audio drums everything is perfect.

The update for Audya remain to see if ever come, because the 'update news' is rather old, in fact from the period when update to Tyros 3 was hot news.
(Also, at 15 October 2018 it will be 2 years since the last EMC XT update.)

However, to take the route in EMC via SD1 converts is an option, but still a lot of work to make it real good.

It's been a while, but hope is dying last.
Still, if you want to do something personal with styles this is a good option with SD1 styles. Or midifiles.
However, the editing is very complicated, especially if you want to work with your own audio drums.
But the result is stunning.

I have created a small demo from a Songstyle.
The first is with Internal Drums
The second one with self-made audio drums.
