New Styles from Ketron UK - 08/17/16 01:06 PM

Just thought you would like to know Ketron UK are now on a style splurge.

1) SD7/SD40/MidJay Pro: Robert Messier has remastered the Audya style update 1 (this one: http://ketronmusic.co.uk/styleupdate/by_request.html) and it is now prepared for SD40, SD7 and MidJay Pro. Will be available within the next couple of weeks. Demos will be available shortly.

2) Audya series/SD7/SD40/MidJay Pro: We are just about to release a set of professional Irish Country Music styles for Audya (SD7, SD40 and MidJay Pro to follow). These are written specifically for professional Irish musicians by one of Ireland's leading musicians- who has a full understanding of the needs of the popular Irish music scene.

Irish Half Time Quickstep
Irish Quickstep
Irish Slow Fox
Irish Slow Walking
Irish Waltz

Quick Demo: http://ketronmusic.co.uk/styleupdate/downloads/irish.mp3

3) Audya. Once they are both released Ketron UK will be commissioning another Audya style pack. A shortlist of styles has already been drawn up - will fill you in as soon as we have more info.

Thanks for pointing this out - I edited my post to say Audya Series. Brian Kerrigan produced the Irish Styles. Its taken well over a year to find someone who has a good enough understanding of the Irish country music scene and the ability to write patterns that can be used professionally. Good Irish styles are hard to find. Most so called Irish styles are written by the rest of us who do not understand true irish music!

Robert remastered the 5 styles from the last Audya release we did - this was quite a challenge as the two systems are very different. Just recieved those from him a couple of days ago - they sound great on the SD7.

The next Audya series styles will definately be Roberts.

These are the Audya styles completely remastered (not simply converted) for SD7, SD40 and MidJay Pro:
60s Power Ballad
Driving Beat
80s Slow Ballad (6/8)
Quickstep Time
Strictly Rhumba

For Audya initially, possibly released to other models later. Unfortunately Audya and SD7 styles do not easily convert from one instrument to the other and have to be significantly reworked.

Thats probably one of the weak spots from ketron ... Style compatibillity between the different models

With the exception of Audya, most of their stuff is compatible. In fact you can take a style from a Solton MS and the SD7 will convert it for you. Just need to tweek them a little using style view (organs normally one 8ve to low) and resave. I recently converted 400 styles from a customers X1 for use on his new SD7.

The problem is the Audya is head and shoulders above any other instrument ever made from a style point of view....Audio Styles for Audya are massive and unique to that instrument. 8 bars per arranger with full wav files for fills, breaks etc. (plus live guitars of course) The SD7 is different and more akin to a normal keyboard, so its not possible to simply convert one of the full Audya styles. However standard midi styles from Audya do work in the SD7. MJ pro etc and they will be automatically converted too.

So tonewheel
You say Robert is remastering styles
I have the Audya 5 and have that last style pack
So do the styles get remastered for the Audya 5?
Meaning tweaked. Fixed?
Remastering. To me is re-EQ. re-compress etc

Or do you mean to say the styles are getting converted for the SD7?

Little confusing I think...

The Remastering (Audio Drums and Style also), its very important if its good...
If we have a good Remastering we have also very important refresh as a new style, or new Audio Drums...
And I think Robert will make again a very good job!!
Please check a my Remastering of a my Audio Drums file...

OK, i'll try and explain it in a different way:

These days words and dscriptions used years ago have changed and are used in ways compatible with modern life. "Remastering" is one such word and can refer to software as well as audio and video. Here is a brief description:

"Software remastering is software development that recreates system software and applications while incorporating customizations, with the intent that it is copied and run elsewhere"

Saying that the Audio aspects will also need remastering in the sense you are thinking of.

The 'By Request' style pack is currently available for:
Audya series instruments.
It does not work on SD7, SD40 or MidJay pro so requires remastering...not simply converting. The styles cannot be simply converted without extensive work because of the difference in Audio capabilities (as previously explained)

So..Robert Messier (who created these styles for Audya) has in effect, taken the styles apart, removed some parts - added other parts in, fixed some other bits and pieces and put them back together so they will now work on the SD7, MidJay Pro and SD40

Now the 'By Request' style pack is available for 2 platforms:
1) Audya Series (as it has always been)
2) SD40, SD7, MidJay Pro

However they are not interchangeable. So if you already have them for Audya 5 - there is no need to order them again.

If your still not sure what all this means drop me a PM and i'll try and explain it.

I can see that, thats why the audya is probably still the best most advanced arranger, but shouldnt ketron make it so audya can load sd7 styles to? Seems there hasnt been an update for quite some time for audya...

What I was basically asking if the styles changed for audya
You mentioned added parts etc.
Or styles for audya. This pack. Remains exactly the same

Not yet - hopefully within before the end of the week

I see: No - the styles as they appear on the Audya are unchanged. The changes only relate to the SD7, SD40 and MidJay Pro. Thay are not improvements over the original styles (why mess with perfection?), but modifications so those styles function correctly on the new instruments.
