Audya Songfinder - 01/06/13 04:02 AM

Has anyone used the song finder Henni found on the German site? I haven't installed it yet, as I don't know what it will do my present registration order, if anything. Does it appear as a separate sub-folder?

Thanks for the info.
I wasn't doubting Henni or his generosity, but didn't want to load it wrong.

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/06/13 11:15 AM

Hi Bernie,

I make regular backups of my "registry/singles" folder as for me, this is the MOST important folder on all of my Audya.

I start my own entries with "&", so they are listed before anything else. If I find a registry I like, I replace the first two characters with "&Z", so they are listed right after my own files. Every now & then I'll listen to those and choose a suitable song for them.

Keep well my friend,

Hi Henni
That sounds like a plan, thanks

Can they be loaded with a pen drive, rather than direct USB?

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/06/13 08:18 PM

Hi Bernie,

It will take a loooong time to mark & even loooonger to copy. There are more than 2000 files. I'd rather go for the cable. Just put everything in your "registrations/single" folder and access through your registration button.

Such a pity they've used so many styles over & over. I'm also convinced that there's a few new styles in there. The EQ is set up FANTASTIC!!!

Keep well my friend,

I can't find the link to that song finder. I guess it was lost in the recent server crash. Can you give me the link to it so I can download it and keep in the Ketron archive here at Synth Zone. If it is less than 6MB could you upload it as an attachment?

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/06/13 09:52 PM

Hi Nigel,

It's fully included in my latest uploads. It took 8 attachments to capture everything...

It was only available from the original site over Christmas 2009. It's no longer available as a download over there.

Here is the post from the person I received it from again:

hello
I have my KETRON since 2009
Registrations and additional sounds available
Christmas time in 2009 on the website
www.ketron-musixx.de
Probably majority of people with a forum to have
but not everyone is eager to help exchange

Keep well my friend,

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/07/13 05:24 AM

Thanks Henni for the songfinder, I've been looking for something like this for a long time.

You will need to copy the files to your Registration/Single folder. Don't forget to make a backup of the files you have there.

I don't know a way to find the name of the style being used in the songbook files. It appears to be a midi style from a different keyboard (yamaha?).

What I did find is that he database is very similar to the Musicfinder File Manager over on the Yamaha forum for Tyros.

I compare the style of the Audya Musicfinder, then look in the Musicfinder File Manager for the name of the style.

I can then go to the Audya styles and find a similar one since the names are somewhat similar.

This has been very useful.

Thanks

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/07/13 05:36 AM

Hi my friend,

I do not know how they set up those registries so that one cannot view the style.

However, you can open Style Viewer and save the style somewhere. You'll have to give it your own name though...

All the best,

Henni

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/07/13 07:31 AM

I just finished loading my Songfinder in the single reg folder in my Audya. I made one master folder and then 8 sub folders which I renamed to the first and last letters of that folder. It took about seven minutes to download, and about the same for the Audya to process it.

What a great addition-Thanks Henni

I find it easy enough to switch to my favorite group of instruments if I don't like what they choose. However, if I save the changes, it makes a new reg beside the old one, instead of changing the original. I will just move that one to my regular single list.

I agree that these are much more than mere shortcuts. They are excellent, and use more than stock style arrangements.

The mere fact of having such a list jogs my memory of songs I know, but don't always think of.

Similar to Yamaha's Musicfinder. You can play most popular songs by the mere press of a single button...

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/07/13 08:22 AM

Are these styles or registrations? Are these in the groups you have already posted?
Posted by: Henni

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/07/13 08:25 AM

They are registrations and go into your Registry/Single directory. They include the styles by themselves.

Find these in XD9_015 to XD9_022 recently uploaded. XD9_12 to XD9_14 hold new voices to be inserted in your INS directory, but not required at all for the Musicfinder.

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/07/13 08:40 AM

When I open one of the zips, they all have the suffix "pat"
Shouldn't regs have a different suffix?

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/07/13 08:47 AM

No my friend,

Go check again. Maybe you've got the files before the server meltdown. I replaced most of the lost stuff, but with different file names as I no longer had the original zip files.

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/07/13 04:52 PM

I organized mine the same way as Bernie and was able to move right into the first sub-folder of my choice but now can't get out of that folder to go to any others or my old original regs. What did I do wrong?

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/08/13 02:33 AM

Escape out of it to go to the previous level

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/08/13 02:52 AM

Bernie,

I did not even know one could have subfolders under Registry/Single folder and that the Audya would recognize it!!! This is actually great news, as right now it takes a long time to save any registry as a result of the huge number of entries in it - I find this rather frustrating.

As soon as I get home from work, I'm going to set up mine like yours. It will really make things a lot easier for me.

Thank you for discovering this & making it known to the rest of us. I'm going to put this in the FAQ thread.

Keep well my friend,

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/08/13 04:46 AM

I thought, also, that the single reg's had to be in one folder for the HHD to keep track of them for a database.

When I bought the AJAMsonic, AJ told me to put my old folder of reg's into the single registration folder of the new program. Lo and behold, there was my old folder I could open and use as normal.

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/08/13 07:08 AM

Another thing I discovered is that when you change one of the songs in a folder. it is saved at the end of that folder. To me, it is helpful in that I know where my favorites are that I have worked on. Also, if you want to move them to any other folder, you can choose multiple songs while in DISK, and move them with one shot.

CORRECTION
Sometimes it stays in original place.

Hi Bernie,

Thank you so much for sharing this with us my friend - it'll prove to be VERY helpfull indeed. My registry folder contains over 3 000 entries and it's getting sluggish now.

Do I Understand, then, that it is better to have separate folders than one giant one?

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/08/13 10:26 AM

Bernie my friend,

This works WONDERS!!! I put all my new registry uploads like the 100 Entertainer, UK, Tradtional Folk and so forth as seperate folders under my single folder.

Next I made a folder where I put all my stuff that'a ready & yet another folder for the files I like, but still need to attach songs to.

My registry is once again SUPER fast. Tx for this fantastic tip my friend. Now my stuff is organized at long last!!!

The "erscape" button is merely your "exit" button.

Okay, chat to you guys again in the morning. The Audya is now going to receive all my attention. Keep well all my friends,

Henni

Great, Henni

Keep us informed of your organization, I need to further refine mine.

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/09/13 12:49 AM

Hi Bernie,

My method is simple. I copied all my other add on registries in their own folders, exactly as downloaded.

Next I make a special directory that contains all my own registries, tweaked to my own liking and for the songs I like to play.

Next I create another directory where I install everything that grabs my attention & which I would later like to modify more for the songs we sing. I use intros & endings a LOT in our performances, & if a style has these, then I'm willing to fiddle with the rest of it's internal parts to make it sound the way I like it...

Remember, we sing only Praise & Worship (almost like Gospel, for those that do not understand). The current entries do not mean a thing to me, except if the setup would arouse my attention.

Your needs are different to mine & I think the way in which you set up yours should suit you perfectly.

In any case, this is a GREAT feature & I'm so glad you made me aware of this. I'm convinced there are more unknown features on the Audy that only needs to be discovered...

Keep well my friend,

Henni

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/09/13 04:53 AM

I am also making great use of my BLOCK REGISTRATIONs for my playlists. Just make sure they are play ready before entering, as you have to go back to the single source to change.

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/09/13 08:03 AM

Bernie,

I've always wondered about that. If you update the single only, will the changes be carried over to the block if it resides in it?

Keep well my friend,

Re: Audya Songfinder - 01/09/13 08:46 AM

Yes

It is a shortcut that calls up the single at it's current state,

This just shows what can be learned and shared when we all contribute, however small it may seem to you.

Above all, please don't assume anything is common knowledge. This is the way a forum should be.
