"NEW"..all demos for the new Ketron UK Style Pack!

Great news!

We have FIVE new demo's to share with you from Robert Messier. Its going to take me a while to prepare them for youtube so will keep editing this post and add new ones as they upload. Other than Robert and myself...you guys are the first to hear them!

The styles themselves feature 100% new Audio Drums and Percussion.

All the sounds used to play the demo's are standard factory voices. They are all 'one take' recordings so no overdubbing...as you can tell by the little 'human elements' here and there.

First three demo's you may have heard from the other thread and the five new ones will be added afterward.

Just so you know where we are at. Robert is finishing the last style up now, so you still have that to hear. Once that one is done, we just have to get the package ready...then we can load them on our Audya's.

I have learned NOT to say a date, because another one of the four horsemen might trot onto Roberts lawn!

Robert dropped me an email yesterday - he has just about finished the last of the five styles...hopefully today

Its a 6/8 but we decided to made a change to the decade as there is nothing really suitable on the Audya for this period. To quote Robert: "been working hard on the production of the big late 80s acoustic drums!"

Like you I have only heard the demo's...and can't wait to try them for meyself.

Hopefully by the end of the year to have them on our AUDYA. Or I'll buy me as a Christmas present

We (by we I mean Keron UK) are just waiting on the software which allows the audiodrums and .PAT files to be made ready for deplyment on the USB sticks (as a self installer .KSI file). The same software copy protects the styles too. Hopefully that should be in the next couple of days then its literally just packaging. If all goes well we are hoping to have them ready by the week ending 14th December.

They will be available internationally, at this point we are not sure wether it will be through the distributor network or direct from us. we are still discussing that with ketron in Italy. Will let you know as soon as we know.

It is looking unlikely that they will be a download though - its just asking for them to end up on a file sharing site!

We are just waiting on the blank USB sticks which will be arriving from Ketron Italy this week, otherwise we are good to go.

Isn't there a way to apply a powerful enough encryption so that it would be practically impossible for the styles to end up on a file sharing site? It would be both more efficient and faster to be able to make the purchase with a click of a button then to use it right on the spot. It's funny we live in the so called information age yet still need to practice the old methods of information transfer.

Hi Leibniz. It would be ideal if we could have encrypted the files for download but at this stage the cost of development would make the styles too expensive. Ketron Italy have very kindly worked with us to make sure the styles are protected on the USB sticks...its the best we can do for now. But we will make sure everyone that wants the USB update will be able to get it easily and quickly.

Pastroccio, all of the new styles have their own live audio drums..so you have five new ones to play with

I forgot to say - they are User Audio Drums (will install into the User Audio Drum Folder).

tonewhel, I understand, but when why in the video is describe "drum kit "? is wrong and we can understand that is a drum kit with this samples and not an audio loop

Hmm, I see now that it could be misunderstood. I will write something in the comments below the video. Probably should have written "Featuring completely new Audio recordings of a Genuine 80s Kit" or something like that.

Pardon my ignorance, but does that mean that the addon styles are locked to the USB stick and that it have to be connected to the kb to play?
I thought the styles would copy into Audya HD?

(audio drum is fantastic, I have just order ajmasonic pack, but somethimes to have possibility for new drum kit for remix older styles with personal drum sound midi would be good)

No, you will first need to install the latest Operating System (OS5 which is included on the USB stick) then just select the file "00KTinstall" (also located on the usb stick) and the styles and audio drums will be automatically loaded onto your Audya into the USER STYLE/unplugged folder. From there you can move them into your own categories or leave where they are.

oops, not sure as I was meant to say anything! Still you will have it soon enough. The factory have been so helpful over the new styles I can't thank them enough. You will need to install OS5 before new styles can be played on your Audya, but I don't have a list of changes and due to an exhibition we have been arranging this last weekend (https://www.facebook.com/suzuki.harmonica?ref=hl) I have had little time to play since.

All i want for Christmas is OS5, whatever that update brings

Thank's a lot for a enlightening explanation. But will the stuff remain on the USB stick for later use if nessesary, i.e. if you for a reason or another swap keyboard?

i think you can install again, at least i hope so cuz i will soon be getting the Audya 5, and now have the 2011 Pen on my Audya 4

The content always remains on the USB stick so you can re-install at a later date if required , but as with previous updates the software checks the Audya serial number so can only be used on one keyboard. That is how the copy protection works.

Fair enough to take care of business. And so is copy protecion, but as long as the styles and sounds are playable at other and/or coming Ketron models, there should be a way to move the stuff so you can use it if swap or upgrade.
I asume pure softwareupgrade can be downloaded free as usual, it's the styles & sound that are the copy protected stuff here?

full number updates (4>5) usually means lots of new stuff,
at least that's how it is with music software, iphones, etc

Honestly I don't know the answer leezone, I have not had the chance to spend much time with it and Ketron have not sent us a list of changes yet. I am hoping they will release it simultaneously on ketron.it so everyone has it regardless of the new styles.

I am deeply sorry I mentioned OS5, it was a slip (that I am normally careful to avoid) when I was keeping you updated about the progress of the the UK style update and gave no thought to it at the time.

As I mentioned I have no idea what it consists of and have had no information on changes or improvements either.

In a few days you will be able to try it for yourselves anyway, but I hate that I have built expectations falsely, it genuinely was not my intention as my thoughts were on the style pack. My sincerest apologies to you guys.

Everything is now in, the blank USB drives arrived from Ketron Italy and they have sent the final version of the required OS for us too. They have been so helpful!

Its a completely new site specifically for the UK style update program so hoping if the first style pack is received well we will be able to start work on the next one! There is a section for submitting a style (still needs finishing) a page with detailed descriptions of the styles, ordering, support and downloads (with instructions and other important downloads). I am quite pleased with how it is coming along.

I have tested the new OS and made sure the styles unpack on the various model Audya's - its just fine, the copy protection equipment is working well. So we are now good to go! As soon as the site is checked tomorrow I will post a link for you.

I forgot to say, the styles work out at just under £7.00 per styles (£34.99). which seems to be in line with the Midi styles offered by other companies. But with this update you get a total of 90 completely fresh Audio Drum loops to play with. The update takes around 20 minutes to install not including OS5.0a.

We have kept the cost as low as possible to help recover the expenses (which are pretty huge) and we won't make anything in the way of profit, but the important thing is to keep public interest in the Audya; and I believe styles is the way to do it. We figured its better to blow our advertising budget this way than run ad campaigns which seem to be throwing money away these days...at least we have something to show for it....and I am happy as Larry (whoever Larry is) because I have new styles on my Audya

here's my take...

i think at 7 pounds, just under $12 US, it's a bargain
so the entire 5 pack costs, under $60 US
This is a NO-BRAINER...for TOP NOTCH styles
It does not get any better

the 90 NEW Audio Drums ALONE are worth MUCH MORE!!!

but more what I expect is new OS5.0a.Just hopping that update shell give as more usefoll things for better control Audya kayboard.Here I mean better Effect algoritems,micro style editing,chance to use INS voices in styles with transpose pasabilyty and more...

Micro editing like being able to raise let's say the volume of that "D" note of the midi bass guitar on the 4th beat of measure 24

Or let's say make that note a 1/4 note instead of an 1/8 note

Or maybe Tweak the EQ of the midi snare drum perhaps add a bit of highs

Or add reverb to just the snare drum, not the entire drum kit

what do they mean 192mb standard?

the new Audyas now have 192mb instead of 64mb?
or they come with 64mb+128mb chip as standard?

Have not tried. Those videos show nothing but sound & eat up my bandwidth.

The way I prefer to listen to demos, is to load onto my Audya & then listen through good quality earphones. I've got every available demo I could find on the Audya there. Some I've converted myself. Found many good downloadable MP3s over at the Ketron USA site.

ooh no. My drive over to the office takes around 50 minutes, half of it in the town, the other half driving through villages, a forests and fields. When I look out of the office window I see the great English countryside; fields, trees, a lake, swans and other birds and sometimes pretty Maids and Peasants (oops a freudian slip).
