Re: Audya Series - LEGACY STYLE LIBRARY from Ketron.it - 11/30/11 01:47 PM

Hopefully professionally and well tweaked goodies for the
Audya owners.
But why put up only as a bounch of single styles and not as
zipped packs as an option as long as they are for free?

That would have been handier, but gift horse and all that.

Italian engineering, woops! Did I just say that, yes I did and I can still hear my Ferrari rusting on the driveway!

Jonny why should you worry about having to load them one at a time, I agree with you, but you haven't got an Audya, so don't worry about us, these are all freeeeeeeeee!

Nah, I don't worry about you at all Tony, you're retired and have all the time needed...... smile
But, I'm still happy I did not rush into Audya, even if it was the asronomic norwegian
pricelevel who kept me away buy any.
Anyway, this "outdated" timeconsuming way of download as only option just mirror some
other outdated issues as well if we read some older treads.

Jonny, if you really want ALL of the styles, why not just use the Global Download at the top of each page? you don't have to sit and click every one ...lol

That's really a good point, but was that link for the zips there yesterday?
If so, I really need new glasses ... again grin

But I already have most of the styles in "non Audya format", from the time
I had the Sd1.

Dan,

As TWD says go up to the top of the PAT file list and you will see a zip symbol it takes seconds to
download.

Re: Audya Series - LEGACY STYLE LIBRARY from Ketron.it - 12/03/11 10:25 AM

Leezone,

You are correct - these have been 'converted' for use in AUDYA (per demand from our customers especially those of the MS-series), but not tweeked (as is the case with the AJAMSONIC upgraded units where they utilize the new audio drums, bass and guitars and in many cases have been re-voiced all together).

Thanks,

AJ

Re: Audya Series - LEGACY STYLE LIBRARY from Ketron.it - 12/04/11 05:04 AM

The reason Ketron did not revoice or swap out midi guitars and drums with live loops is because the 'musicality' would have been affected. As AJ mentioned its a very common for people who have upgraded from an earlier model keyboards to still need the styles from their old instrument whilst they adjust their program. Otherwise the Audya will just gather dust until they have the chance to rework their set lists.

They have been properly converted though. Previously styles didn't function correctly if used in the native state, even on relatively recent keyboards like XD9, some styles were just wrong. But not any more:)

I am guessing that after this we will have around 800 factory styles on our Audya's!

Re: Audya Series - LEGACY STYLE LIBRARY from Ketron.it - 12/04/11 05:19 AM

Hi Everybody,

I downloaded several and tried them out.

NOTHING really NEW or Exciting for me. frown

I wish Ketron would would make available ongoing NEW STYLES like Yamaha does.

The Styles are what make an Arranger!!! They promote creativity and musicianship with the player.

Yamaha has some Awesome styles but unfortunately the " LIVE BAND SOUND " just is NOT there.

Ketron needs to hire someone like Robert Messier and let him put his talents to work to create us some new stuff.

I would gladly pay whatever for the cost of new arrangements. Ketron, is really missing the boat here!!!!

COME ON KETRON! Give us some NEW STUFF, not just the same old same old!

This is really an important issue. Nowadays it looks like Yamaha is the only ones who care about those things.
Sadly MidiSpot who are a one of the 3rd part providers only continue produce for Yamaha series. Too bad.
Now Korg has released the new PA3, and I'm wondering if they will start add new styles to the library.
If so, well, then it's very interesting.
I think Korg is the closest thing to Ketron regarding "live" sounding, and by read about it, maybe the one with
the best edit, create and tweak possabilities at the moment?

Re: Audya Series - LEGACY STYLE LIBRARY from Ketron.it - 12/04/11 01:16 PM

But its so easy to modify any MIDI style yourself on the Audya. You have a ton of ingredients, many of the live drums and guitars do not even appear in the main patterns.

If you like a midi style...for example SOUL_POP is good for a bit of Hammond groove. So, I just spent no more than 10 minutes and converted it to a live style on the keyboard and just played through the arranger parts fills. I swapped out drums, guitars and bass only so as not to affect the feel of the style too much.

Re: Audya Series - LEGACY STYLE LIBRARY from Ketron.it - 12/05/11 01:28 PM

Hi Tonewheeldude,

I have never worked with midi files. I always felt they were to Thin & Cheap Sounding.

Please let me know if I'm missing something with Midi files and the Audya.

I have edited many of the Ketron styles and am very pleased with the results.

But if there is something I could be doing with Midi and they sound as good as the styles, I'll give it a try. smile

Re: Audya Series - LEGACY STYLE LIBRARY from Ketron.it - 12/05/11 02:22 PM

I have a feeling this deserves a new thread but lets go here for now

sorry - i didn't mean work with Midi 'files'. That sample i posted above is not a MIDI FILE, it was an old Ketron Style from a previous model. Like the styles on a Tyros or PA series keyboards it is a standard Midi Style (basically an interactive Midi File). Your Audya sounds so different because it uses live elements - namely the drums and guitars, plus a whole lot more work on Midi elements too. The idea was to take out the predictability of styles (e.g. fret noise every two bars regardless of chord)

1) What I did was copy the file SOUL_POP.PAT to my Audya. Its a nice style but as you say, it sounds thin due to 100% MIDI elements.

2) I selected STYLE VIEW. Here you can see the 'ingredients' of the style.

3) I pressed F1 twice to go into the audio drums and found one I liked of similar tempo. This automatically sorts out all of your fills, intros, endings etc.

3) Guitars were next on my list so again chose live guitars for the two guitar sections in the style (F7 and F8 I think). almost done, but wanted the bass a bit more funky so changed that too. pressed the save button and put a "&" sign at the beginning so I could find it easily (Audya displays a dot in front of the style name). I also altered the volumes. Unlike the audio drums you have to do this for each arranger part and for intros/endings. a neat trick is to use "key stop" so the intro doesn't finish before you have chance to modify it.

This took me no more than 10 minutes and I now have a completely new Style to use which uses live drums & guitars.

Do you understand what I mean? I could have changed other parts too but I kind of like the brass and hammond stabs.

Anyone else tried converting the Legacy styles to Live Audio?
Posted by: Luka

Re: Audya Series - LEGACY STYLE LIBRARY from Ketron.it - 12/18/11 10:32 PM

Hello everybody!
Especially with old converted styles I miss short one bar endings like SD1 has implemented with »TO END« function.
I wish Ketron would equip all styles for Audya with a short ending.
Has anybody found an easy way to modify »INTRO/ENDING 1«? Copy from SD1 or program it in some MIDI program?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Luka

Re: Audya Series - LEGACY STYLE LIBRARY from Ketron.it - 12/20/11 02:34 AM

Thanks guys

I finally found them.

Since these are remakes of legacy styles, there are duplicates of styles already in the user styles in the Audya. I wonder if there is any easy way of telling old from new.
