BTW, i love my AUDYA, even if the audio loop timings are not perfect

Imagine an Ipad as the interface for MIDIJAY. Now throw in all the Arranger features plus easier to use and did I forget the 'touch screen'?

* Way thinner and ligher than the Midijay
* Way more features and very fast processing
* Incoorporating Audio Drums, Bass, Guitar and ...

im kind of glad AJ was messing with us on this touchscreen ipad'ish AUDYA module thingy

as i would be quite upset that my AUDYA 4 was modernized/ replaced in such a short time

personally I do not like touch screens at all on anything other than toys or PDA's. I love the sliders on the Audya and the tactile switches for arranger parts fills, etc. I would hate to lose those in favour of consumer pressure to have 'the latest'. Some things are better left alone - particularly if its control features.

As screens continue to decrease in price its only a matter of time before we lose hardware controls (which are expensive to manufacture and assemble)...but I am not looking forward to it that day.

The AUDYA 4 will be around for a while so hold on to what you have as there is no replacement for this ... just updates!

As for this 'new' product ... just wait and see ...

I think TWD is right, fly by wire can be dangerous when the comms goes, your gone, touch screens make changing things very easy and you can upgrade for years with a touch screen, I don't think it will be long before we do go down this route
