15 pin cable - USB

my new PC doesn't have a 15 pin outlet like the old one (RS232 or whatever). I bought a 15pin to USB dongle so I can connect USB to my Ketron SD1. unfortunatly it freezes the program everytime I press "connect" on the KetronFT.exe
shouldn't this work? the 15pin cable is the original cable AJ sold me and it worked fine with my old PC

I used to have SD1 and without a seriel port in my lap I use an adaptor USB to Seriel ,like you have.
First you should check if the Ketron cable it's ok.Try to find someone with a classic seriel port and make some tests.
Then ,after you install ketronFT, try to change the seriel ports.Sometime it needs to test some other from the list.It should work.
If you need a schematics for Ketron PC cable, eventualy to check if the cable is ok by measuring with a ohm-meter , see the connection diagram at www.caia.tk , under "Diverse"

KETRONFT.EXE uses a com2 default which in my pc is grayed out. the only option I have is com1. thats the one I use.
the cable is good. it works with my old pc.
