X1 problem, separate out - 05/19/03 03:24 AM
When i select the separate out, the chorus effect is bypassed, and the reverb no. Is a problem of my keyboard or a software bug?
Anyone can help me please?

Hi Edoardo
I have X4, problem is the same, delay and chorus. Maybe it's a software problem (I have latest 4.0a) or hardware. 2 DSPs are mybe not enough, that's why they put 3 into SD-1 and XD9.
I have posted new topic about that.

I have an X1 with the same problem. When I send the microphone to a seperate out I lose all effects. The Ketron people say that this shouldn't happen but that is all they offer.
I always thought it was a software problem and now that it has appeared on your units I'm even more convinced.

You should get vocal harmonies, but NO effects with separate outs. That's the way it worked on mine. Separate means just that. You separate it from the signal path, and thereby .... the effects. The idea is to let you process the signal a different way from the rest of the mix. It's actually a good thing to have.

X1/X4 can work in 4 Output Modes:
1. L&R only (all effects)
2. L&R (all effects) + OUT3(dry)
3. L&R (all but without reverb) + OUT3&4(dry)
4. separate 1 2 3 4 (dry)
This is according to official manual, and actually it's true, but modes 2. and 3. have software bug: you can get effects on L&R only if you "cheat" the software. See more in my topic "SW Bug in X4 OS 4.0a".

My Mother told me never to cheat.
