I ordered the G70 !

I ordered the G70 ! - 10/31/04 09:16 AM

Within a few weeks I hope to get my ROLAND G70. It will take time to 'convert' our songbook from SD1 to G70.

My 'love' for Ketron (as a brand) is over now, as I already stated.

Roel,

Roel, are you getting a production unit? If the G70 is made in Italy (and chances are it is), it is possible some of the styles could be similar. In this way, having both the G70 and SD1Plus side by side, you should easily be able to get similar set ups from the SD1Plus in the G70. Now the question is how many 'Registrations' does the G70 hold (what is the Roland terminology for 'Registrations' - I forgot)?

Hi AJ,
I do not want a (near) exact copy of our songbook.
The styles are different and I try to refresh our repertoir with other (better?) styles.
There is a music finder on the G70 with 500 songs. For more product details www.rolandg70.com (my dealer's site)

btw. Any news from Ketron?

I don't want it because it doesn't have sampler...
The sampler of the SD1 is very poor, with just 16 Mb (just 6 Mb of samples make it full for me ), but you must listen what I do this sampler !!!
very important in oriental music

DAN2000,

I do not care for missing a sampler or MP3-board or CD-ROM drive or huge Harddisk Dan.
You are right about the SD1 sampler
In the SD1 I only use three (samples) B3 en breathy sax..... Loading more takes 'hours'... and the Ketron sampler is a MONO one.

The G70 has room for a (standard) micro-drive ...I like that !

note that in the SD1, you can make 2 mono samples one L and one R, and play them together panned in a Program
This is how Ketron make their sounds stereo.
But this take 2 more time memory !!!
