They are DANO! I select my registration that puts LHS at 53 volume. As soon as I change styles it goes back to 63 and stays there for the rest of the styles!!!

I want to be able to hold it at 53!

I guess I misunderstund . LOL

OK ...custom style setting allows you to save adjustments and call up by pressing the dedicated custom style button , and entering the style # you made the edit .

How do you edit a style ? I think you know this .....just press save enter , F2 for style and F9 or F10 to confirm .

You have to press the custom style button . Let me know if this makes sense .

Dano, I think you totally are missing my question.

I am using Patterns on my X1.

When I turn on my X1, the LHS volume is set to 63. I set it to 53 and I do the SAVE/ENTER under a registration. When I pull that particular registration up after turning on the X1, the LHS volume (the volume of the entire arranger section) does go to 53...BUTTTTT as soon as I pick another pattern, it goes back up to 63 and stays there regardless of which pattern I chose.

How do I make my arranger section volume stay at 53 for the LHS?

thanks Dano and all

No, but how is that related?

Remember I am not using Custom styles or internalt styles, i am using patterns.

I am puzzled that this is not working!

anyone?

I think that the left hand volumnes are more controlable when an edit is made to the pattern itself .

DO NOT USE REGISTRATIONS .

AJ and I in our opinion believe it is easier to edit a style , after it is globally copied as a new pattern .

If our answers do not help , email Sandro at Ketron.

With the pattern expansion , you could organize up to 200 patterns in a row .

So instead of using registrations, take the styles your trying to save as registrations and globally copy them as a NEW pattern .

Press Edit pattern , select new , name the pattern , confirm , press copy , press F1 and use balance value buttons to scroll to the style you wish to edit .

Once the style is created as a new style , make the volumne control adjustments etc ...
And press save enter , F2 for styles and F10 .

If this doesn't work , email Sandro

PS....If your X1 does nto have the pattern expansion , you will be capiable of placing up to 30 to 50 patterns .

Re: How do u HOLD the LHS volume on X1? - 04/14/03 06:59 PM

Dano, thanks for your efforts, but I already have 200 patterns loaded, so I don't have room to be copying patterns, cause I dont have empty slots.

Plus, I dont want to have to edit 200 patterns simply to be able to set the arranger section volume to a certain level. I thought that one of the parameters controlled by the Registrations is the LHS volume (the arranger volume). Indeed, when I do call up the registration, it does change the LHS volume from 63 (when X1 is turned on) to 53. The problem is, as soon I chose a new pattern the LHS volume goes back to 63, and stays there for all patterns to come. so obviously some how it is locked at 63, only if I can change the value, that would be nice!

Re: How do u HOLD the LHS volume on X1? - 04/15/03 12:37 AM

Mosiqaar,

Sorry I missed this all together:

From the default screen, proceed as follows:

* Press UTILITY
* Go to Page 2/3
* Press Registr Mode (F3)
* Make sure ARRANGER MODE = OFF
* SAVE new Registration settings (F7)
* Return to default screen -
* Adjust Lower volumes to your wish.
* Press SAVE/ENTER button save-REGISTRATION (this will be REG01).
* EXIT and return to default screen.
* Now (with same volume settings), press SAVE/ENTER and SAVE POWER ON SET UP.

When next you turn on your keyboard, it should default to the new vol. settings.

PS: The above holds true only for Registrations (as per your initial request way up above). If you are switching from one STYLE/PATTERN to another and still want the Lower volume leves the same (eg 23), you will have to make the modifications to the Lower volumes within the PATTERN, that is set the LOWER volumes to 23, press SAVE/ENTER and PATTERN to save the new Pattern volume levels; then proceed to adjust the next Pattern etc.

Thanks and again sorry for delay,

AJ

Re: How do u HOLD the LHS volume on X1? - 04/16/03 08:06 PM

Thanks AJ, I will try your above procedure and see if it works. The only thing I had not tried from ur list above is to SAVE/ENTER power on setup.

Please read my comments in the oriental forum on this topic.
Its not that I want volumeSSS to be fixed, its just the LHS volume which is on the screen right blew the RHS volume. It is changed using the + - buttons right below TRANSSPOSE. Its one value the lowers or highers the entire arranger section loudness. That is what I want to HOLD.

Thanks

Re: How do u HOLD the LHS volume on X1? - 05/11/03 02:36 PM

Mosiqaar,

I understand your question. You would like to be able to change from one PATTERN to another and have the LEFT Volume level stay constant. This cannot be done without manually changing the volume level within the style ... and here is why.

When you program a style, you have different volume settings within that style for different instruments. Now depending on the velocity/after-touch level that was set by the style programmer when the style was being recorded, level 24 (e.g.) in one PATTERN may sound louder or lower than the same level set within another pattern (instruments used may also change this). That is to say even if we were able to freeze the LEFT volume, you would still notice volume changes as you changed from one style to another so we opted not to install this function to be more realistic.

Hence to set the volume leves constant for:

PATTERNS:- Go through each Pattern and adjust the volume such that whenever that Pattern is called, the LEFT level stays constant.
STYLES:- Use the CUSTOM styles (images of the ROM styles) to do the changes and SAVE new volume settings.

Hope this better explains.

Thanks,

AJ.
