Time to focus on Roland G70 !!

Well... Ketron keeps ignoring mails and customer complaints. Now I'm getting more and more angry.
Fortunatly there is a new keyboard coming soon : The Roland G70 !
In about 5 weeks the first demo-shows start in the Netherlands....

Time to leave Ketron and jump to 'good old Roland' ?

Pro's :
Huge dealernetwork (Several dealers within a 30 km radius)
Excellent repair-shops/service/support.
Very well designed equipment.
Hi-quality components.

I expect the G70 to be a winner! (look at the specs)

Be patient. Wait till it actually hits the streets before you sing the praises.
This happpens every time a new "something" is rumored to appear. It's a good bet that this KB IS comming, but I will never get excited about something that someone "heard" or "secret info" on anything. Just sit tight ....... let's see if it really happens first.

I also remember the ProtoType of the Yamaha Electone HX1......BIG change from that to the production model, they eliminated most of features I was sold on.
Is better wait and see what is really going to be....
Also, when I got the Roland VA7( when it came out).....I had NO customer suport so.....bye bye VA7, so, wait and check it out before.

Like all products, customer support is all down to the attitude of the staff employed. Here in the UK Roland support staff are very helpful and quick at responding to a customer needs. Even emails are usually replied to within 24 hours.

The only machine I purchased without actually having touched/played it.... is the SD1. Still I love this incredible keyboard very much and I think it's one of the top-kb's.
Sure it is possible the G70 does not answer my expectations (like the Tyros, PA1XPRO, PSR's, GEM and others did).... but in the past Roland developed fantastic stuff. (e.g. CANVAS,VS-recorders and VKx's)

Is there anything that excited you at the SD1 or was it a judicial punishment that forced you to use this instrument?

I'm not sure what your 'message'is about.
Do you want OS4.0c ? .... you could simply ask for it as many others did.

I think you know exactly what the problem is : The Ketron Support that seems to be ZERO. (for both X1 and SD1)

Read my posts and discover I love the SD1 above all others. The G70 could change my 'feelings' ?

Stay tuned and in a few weeks you know the answer, my German neighbour

Com'on Roel! It's more than obvious that you're still deeply in love with your SD1 and will not replace it easily with a mere G70 promise, no matter how sick of waiting for a software upgrade you might be.

I sold my X4 this summer. It was a good companion of the road and I still miss some incredible styles in it, but it was time for a change. I'll return to Ketron IF it proofs to be an alternative with crediblity to other brands equipment. This long silence from Ketron regarding upgrade of current products has surely made some damage to it's credibility, but.. let's see what happens in the future.
