Ketron_AJ:
I have some questions I'd like you to answer...

First one, when I go to the autotest menu on the SD1 and run all the tests everything's OK, except this: when I run "FLASH" test, after the test it also tests "CHECKSUM" and the result it "CHECKSUM:BA0D" (it's B A "zero" D). Is it an internal error?...

Another thing is that my SD1 has a 10GB HD has I can see(there's 9,xx GB free). How is this possible if in the manual it refers to a 6GB HD?...

Please clarify me when possible...

Thanks in advance.

Luis.Santos

Your FLASH test is ok. 'BA0D' is the location address where your flash contents currently end. If you install more styles, sounds, this value will increase/change.

As for the HD, this is a funny reading. The amount free is in percentages and not in GB so %98 represents the percentage free.
Under DISK, UTILITY, INFO the first line displays the size of HD (in KB) while the next line tells you what you have left!

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

AJ

Thanks a lot! You're really VERY helpful!
Nice!... I'm glad it's not a problem, that "BA0D"...

About the HD... I didn't make myself clear... when I wrote 9,xx the xx was the 9,xxxxxx kb you're talking about... it's really a 10GB HD (9.8Gb) as I can read in the first 2 lines of the hard disk test... How is this possible? The HD coming on the SD1 is always a 6GB HD? or has it changed to 10GB?...

Also... thanks for the answer about the block registration on the other forum... The problem was mine as I wasn't looking the reg. on the right place... new keyboard...
Could you please tell me the differences between the block and single reg.? the manual is not very clear... I can have a list of all the single regs but I can't have a list of the regs of the block reg? is that right?

By the way... How can I copy or move files from a directory to another? What I wanted to do is to copy(or move) styles from a user folder to the master style folder...
Is it possible?...

Another question I have is this: When doing different registrations is there a possibily to not let the registration change the microphone parameters, such as reverb or active/inactive?... If not, do I have to set it on all of the registrations?... (since I only use one preset on the reverb and the active microphone all the time)
And how can I adjust the EQ of the microphone?

I easily repaired the problem on pitch wheel... and despite the hiss and another things... I'm very happy with the keyboard!

Thanks a lot !

Luis Santos

Luis.Santos

Pls see response below:

Could you please tell me the differences between the block and single reg.? the manual is not very clear...
>>>AJ: BLOCK: Found inside the instrument (198 of them). Are loaded instantaneoulsy. You will have to remember numeric number associated with each since there is no way to list/display them.
SINGLE: Found on disk (number depends on disk size but each HD folder can hold 999). Entire list of them can be viewed on screen. Slightly slower to load and also load associated text (.txt) files.

By the way... How can I copy or move files from a directory to another? What I wanted to do is to copy(or move) styles from a user folder to the master style folder...
Is it possible?...
>>>AJ: Yes. From the disk menu, press FOLDER (F8) and select the folder you want to copy from. Next, press COPY (F7) and select the TARGET folder.

Another question I have is this: When doing different registrations is there a possibily to not let the registration change the microphone parameters, such as reverb or active/inactive?... If not, do I have to set it on all of the registrations?...
>>>AJ: No. Under UTILITIES, REGIS MENU, you can set the parameters you want to change (on) or not to change (off) when you change from one registration to another.

And how can I adjust the EQ of the microphone?
>>>AJ: Go to EDIT-VOCALIZER and press EFFECTS (F7).

Thanks,

AJ

Re: to Ketron_AJ: 2 questions about SD1... - 12/12/02 04:15 AM

So... You mean I can't copy or move only some files(styles) I choose from a folder to another? I have to copy "ALL" the files from a folder to another, right?...

About the registration modifying the microphone parameters... I didn't understand...
Is there a function that do not allow registations to modify microphone parameters? or do I have to set microphone "Active" on all of the registrations?...
I didn't find that parameter so that the reg wouldn't affect the microphone settings such as the "active" parameter...

Can you please explain this better?...

Thanks
Luis Santos

Hi Luis

What AJ meant is this: in the UTILITIES, REGIS Menue you can define, what KB settings shall be saved if later you'll do the procedure to save a new register. Go in this menue and set to OFF all micro-related parameters. If you save now a new register it will not contain micro-related settings, ie upon re-load this reg. it will NOT destroy the current settings.

Thanks.

hrh999, thans for the help, I understand that, but on the REGIS MENU I don't know what are the micro related settings...

Ketron_AJ, what setting should I disable on the regis menu? (I only want the microphone always active and the mantain reverb level, so that's what I want to disable on all the registratrions. I don't want to disable the vocalizer settings because I will use it in different ways in some registrations.)

About the question on my previous post about copying files... can you please answer me?

When I start a style with the key start, a style such as "SOUL", when I press a C chord (C-E-G) why do I hear some unwanted noted before the intro begins? is there some parameter I can modify to avoid this?

By the way... about converted MS styles on the SD1, do they sound worse than the others, like the X1 styles?

Thanks lot for your help on everything...

Luis Santos

Luis.Santos

Pls. see response below:

I don't want to disable the vocalizer settings because I will use it in different ways in some registrations.)
>>>AJ: Go to EFFECTS and disable MICRO and all related to microphone (I am not currently close to any keyboard so might not be as precise).

About the question on my previous post about copying files... can you please answer me?
>>>AJ: Yes I will. Let me copy what I had mentioned before with a slight modification.
>>>AJ: Yes. From the disk menu, press FOLDER (F8) and select the folder you want to copy from. The files within the selected folder will be displayed so select the files you want to copy. Next, press COPY (F7) and select the TARGET folder.

When I start a style with the key start, a style such as "SOUL", when I press a C chord (C-E-G) why do I hear some unwanted noted before the intro begins? is there some parameter I can modify to avoid this?
>>>AJ: Under ARRANGER MODE, you will have to set LOWER mode (F5) to 'OFF on STOP'; this way, no notes are produced prior to starting the arranger.

By the way... about converted MS styles on the SD1, do they sound worse than the others, like the X1 styles?
>>>AJ: No. The internal converter is a lot better for the SD1.

Thanks,

AJ
