Problem with Ketron X1 - 05/02/05 09:00 PM
Lately, I started having a problem with my Ketron X1: When I turn the power ON, I basically get NOTHING on the screen, just an illuminated blue screen with no display, no sound, nothing! You just hear the system checking the floppy drive but it doesn’t start up the keyboard.
I keep turning it off and back on till it works after a few times. I tried reloading the OS but the problem is still happening every now and then. Any suggestions?

I've had several customers over the years with the same problem. It is usually the connections between the display and the main board. They often need to be soldered by a repair technician who knows what they are doing. I'm sure AJ can give you some additional information.

Thanks George for your reply. But let me explain this, I don’t think it’s the display because even if you leave it ON for 5 minutes you can never produce any sound from the keyboard, it’s not just a matter of not seeing anything on the screen.
I have a good electronics background and I can solder PCB’s efficiently, AJ, any help?

Try reloading the OS (from
www.ketron.it). If you still don't get sound, you could have an issue with the DSP0 (Sound) Board which might need to be replaced.
Thanks,
