Can the midjay play a wav file in sync with a style?

I know that the midjay has the ability to play .wav files in sync with a midifile, but I was wondering if the same is possible with a style. I know that in the SD1 this is possibile, only the files are not labeled as ".wav" but as ".grv" (groove) instead. Are those ".grv" files just ".wav" files renamed or is there a difference?
