TO AJ: ISSUES & LA SALSA

I have a SD1 and cannot open midi files. Sometimes reports errors like: SONG ERROR, BAD TIMING, DISK ERROR 122.

Sometimes it opens a different midi file if there are more on the same floppy (this doesn't happens on hard disk).

I tried upgrading to 4.0b and still the same.

I even cannot format a floppy, the button simply does nothing. (tried with 4.0a & b).

My dealer gave me the midi file "La salsa" you gave him at NAMM. He never had all the files it requires. Can you send me the midi, msp and wav files please? Also special directions if needed. My e-mail is grosado@megacable.com.mx

It looks a hardware problem to me.
Can you acces the floppy-station with operations like DIR... and does it show the directory?

Are you able to use midifiles from Hardisk ?

If your SD1 is still under warranty, let your dealer solve the problem.
If not, purchase a standard FDD drive and replace the defective one.

Replacing with 'original' Ketron (ALPS) drive will cost you lots of money

Naso,

You might need to have the reader in your FD cleaned or the entire FD replaced (if you are getting such errors).

You can keep trying, but it obvious the FDD is defective..... it won't heal itself.
