Loading New Sounds on XD9/VEGA FLASH Card - 06/23/03 07:47 PM

When I purchased the VEGA, the advertisement said as an option you can buy the FLASH card for the sound expansion blank or pre-loaded. I assumed if you buy it blank, you would be able to load some new sounds to it.

I have not been able to figure out how to load the new sounds. Are these instrument sounds in .INS format, or .SND format, or some other format? How do you create these if you have a sampler?

After you get the file on disk how do you load it on the keyboard FLASH card?

Would appreciate an answer from Ketron or anyone who has done it. The three sounds I would like to add are the Harmonium, the Tabla (Indian and not Arabic) and the Rubab (an Afghani instrument). If we can't sample and load, can Ketron do this service?

nick_h,

These files come pre-loaded or empty. The only sounds you can load into the instrument are those available from the Ketron XD-series lib. Once you purchase the card (with your first batch of sounds), you won't need to purchase the card again ... just the groups of 8 disks.

Thanks,

AJ

Thanks AJ.

How can I find out which sounds come pre-loaded. Is this the same as what is on the disks? What is the format of the files? Does Ketron plan to add new sounds in the future like the ones I listed? It is not clear if the sounds on the disk will write over what is preloaded.
