X9 Styles on SD1

X9 Styles on SD1 - 11/01/02 05:35 PM

I have loaded most of the X9 Styles on my Sd1 and they sound great! My question is are the "NEW" styles that are available from Ketron for the SD1 the same? If I purchase the "NEW" SD1 styles will they sound the same as the X9 styles that I now have on my SD1? Is there a difference?

JC,
I have tried to order the new styles from Ketron, but they don't seem available yet. They should sound good, because are drawn from actual songs, but my dealer told me that they exist only on paper. I have tried to find them for sale on the web, but to no avail. If you know something, let us know.
Cheers,
Andrea

As far as I know the new styles for SD1 are all available because two weeks ago I ordered few floppies at my dealer in Slovenia and Ketron people also recommended them on Rimini fair already in April this year. Since Jckeeys was so kind to send me XD9 styles some time ago and I found a few styles with the same name as on ordered floppies, I will soon be able to tell you if they are the same. I assume they are.

Thanks for the feedback!! I know they are available because I spoke to a dealer in Denver Co. (USA) he had them! Luka if you could let me know if they are the same I would appreciate it. I do not want to purchase styles that are a duplicate of what I have. Thanks Again!!

JCKeeys and Luka,
are you referring to those styles that are drawn from songs, like "Just the way you are", "When a man loves a woman" or "A whiter shade of pale"?

The only new SD1 styles I know about are those listed on Ketron web site (Styles & Sound).
I heard once a Ketron demonstrator playing XD9 and among its styles there were also some inspired by latest hits (he played Corazon espinado and Can't get you out of my mind). Unfortunately I didn't ask him for names of the styles so I don't know if they were built in styles or some extra from the hard disk. In my opinion they have standard Ketron names like Techno or Cha-cha etc. and we will have to figure it out which style was inspired by which hit (or ask Ketron to help us with a list).
Jckeeys, I hope it will be this week, that I will know if new styles for SD1 are the same as those on XD9.

Luka,
the style to play Corazon Espinado is one of the internal styles of the XD9/XD3. There are some really great latin styles on these new Ketron boards!

Dreamer & others.

The new styles, songs and sounds listed on our website (www.ketron.it) for the SD1 lib. are available here in the US as well.

Contact your dealer and have them order these disks from Bell Douvox (800-734-5418)- if you do not have a dealer close by, do contact Bell Douvox and they should be better placed to assist you with one or other options.

Thanks,

AJ

AJ,
I have ordered the styles from the Ketron repair center where I took my SD1 and that's OK (besides, the price is quite acceptable: about 12 dollars for each disk, with at least 8 styles on it), but I wish that Ketron could implement a kind of online store, like Yamaha did already. It's so much easier to buy something online and I guess that I got somehow spoiled...
