Sounds good, but probably a SD5 with 76 keys, no speakers and some added options?
Looking forward to see if they have done any improvements about how to operate
the keyboard, cause that's about time.
The SD1 (& SD5) is no big success in that way if anyone ask me, even if I'm slowly
learning a tiny bit more about it every day.
I've said it before, melt Ketron & Technics, it would be a keyboard winner.
Techtron or Kethnics, but that's only dreams of course..............

On the contrary, the new keyboard will be audio based loops that respond to chord changes... 76 keys .. probably SD5 type buttons & navigation ...

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/13/07 01:12 PM

I have heard from a reliable source that there is a new Ketron keyboard on the drawing board. It's going to be a top of the line new keyboard. Ketron doesn't have a prototype to show off yet. It doesn't look like the new Ketron will be available until next year at least. My source explains that the new keyboard is going to be much more expensive than the SD5. Understandably so. I would be surprised if anything new would show up at the upcoming German tradeshow. Maybe next year. I can breathe with a sigh of relief now and enjoy my new SD5 that I just purchased.

This is pure speculation on my part.

Well, usually there are a lot of leaks about new models in front of
arrival to the public, but no such "seriously" rumours is going on
this time, so maybe you're right.
If it's the next top of the line to replace SD1 it will certainly be
far more expensive than the SD5, cause SD1 Plus are still in the shop,
and it costs nearly 50% more than SD5 in this country.

Anyway, guess we'll just have to wait and see, and whenever a new top
of the line Ketron keyboard coming up, I'm very anxious to see if the
engineers managed to put in some more userfriendly OS.

Happy playing.

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/18/07 05:13 PM

Ok, what can I say?

Name - starts with "A****" - a letter usually designated to the highest/best grade, reward ... etc.

What is it? It will be/is the first of it's kind keyboard with massive great technology NOT YET available in any Arranger keyboard to date.

Features - Can't really disclose at this time, however let's just say, KETRON has taken LIVE SOUND to the ultimate level using todays technology to create sounds for tomorrow!!!!

Expansion - Lots of what you asked for is now inclusive as standard. Easy OS, multi-tasking expanded ... etc

Weight - We tried to keep it down this time.

What else? It's around the corner and coming soon.

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/18/07 10:52 PM

But does it come anywhere close to professional studio/live production quality of sound that is available with studio/live computer software/hardware, if so then I will definitely look forward to trying it, (It will probably be shown at the Blackpool Keyboard Festival if it is shown at Frankfurt) as for the first time in years there will be a keyboard that can give a Wersi OAS instrument (With also has the advantage of virtually unlimited expandability for the future) a run for its money. (Don’t also forget the Mediastation which will also be a force to be reckoned with in a couple of years or so)
Can’t wait to find out details

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/19/07 01:51 AM

On the SD1Plus, we had a ROM Wave table of 48MB and we believe we did well with the technology then (which in my opinion still rival some of the newer ones out today). With a new ROM wave table of over 300MB, what would you expect? (no , it won't serve you breakfast in bed...)

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/19/07 05:05 AM

Probably no use asking at this moment, but
if not ask, no answers

AJ, are there more than 61 keys and no speakers?
And "just around the corner", is that later than
Frankfurth?

Gunnar Jonny,

You're right ... if you don't knock, the door might not be opened. If you do ....

To answer your questions, yes, yes and yes.

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/21/07 03:24 PM

Ok - I can add one more letter to the new name - "U".

If you don't read from me again, I have been 'fired'

Spaceship design? Not really; however, a tremendous amount of R&D has gone into making the panel a lot easier to use (possibly without a manual for basic operations). I think I might have 'killed' 3 trees in the process but it's all good now.

More to come ...

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/22/07 01:58 AM

am i the only one missing a joystick on the left side of the keys on the SD1? The current location of pitch / modulation wheels is impossible to use. i don't need the speakers and extra keys, but I must have the sampler so SD5 was out of the question. you can put me on the list for any new advanced ketron.

Will there be a new Ketron module?

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/27/07 01:30 PM

i hope that the new keyboard has sd1+ cababilities, plus mp3/wav player, stereo sampler, 20gb hard disk, usb port, no-touchscreen display, a great simple design just like sd1+, and of course the great sd1 sounds and the new ones with more quality.

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/28/07 09:49 AM

ruimoreira,

Yes to all the above ... but the Hard Drive. How about 40GB instead?

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/28/07 11:07 AM

Hi KETRON_AJ & to All

When we should accept the Audya in the stores...?

More expensive than SD-1 ...?

Digital I/O ...?

Separated audio output for the Vocalizer...?

Synchronizable Wave/MP3 with Style with no loadin time (when Live performing)....?

ROM Expandable ....?

I wont ask about voices because I had the SD-1, though I can trust the audio quality of KETRON.

Thanks in advance.

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/28/07 10:02 PM

it seems awesome!!!

just missing sequencer! sd1 has it!
Posted by: Ketron_AJ

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/29/07 12:40 PM

Sequencer - Yes and No. (No because it is not the full flesh sequencer you're used to e.g SD1). Yes, because you can now use the PATTERN EDITOR as a sequencer - nearly unlimited bars (loop points) with 32 tracks!!!

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 03/29/07 10:16 PM

Some nice sounds and features on it, however I was not totally convinced by all of the sounds, but then as it was recorded through a camera mike I will wait until I hear it live before making a judgment.
Another thing I found was that it was difficult to see what was actually played and what was recorded, it’s a pity the camera operator didn’t move to the side like he did with the short Hammond demo at the end.
As I said in one of my previous posts, I cant wait to see what Peter Shaw does with it at one of the UK Keyboard Festivals, as I would say it will have Y, R, and K quaking in there boots.
Well done Ketron, you have certainly moved the Hardware Arranger well forward.
Look forward to more demos.

Taking into account the limited recording medium.
Listening on quality headphone the sound potential to me should be very good. Price ?.

Re: NEW KETRON KEYBOARD - 11/08/07 12:12 PM

Hi, when will this board be available? And what will the price point be? Similar to the SD1 or SD5? Where can I hear this marvel of technology? The Eskildsen link didn't work.
