Sysex messages cause volume problems?

Sysex messages cause volume problems? - 05/12/03 06:37 AM

I have many songs that have some preset volume levels that change throughout the song. Some start at 0 and go up slowly for a swell effect and back down again, etc.

On many of these midi files, if I adjust any of them in any way using sysex messages, doesn't even have to be the volume. Could be me changing an instrument, transposing the key, whatever; they don't work properly anymore. Usually the volume just won't change anymore. If it starts at zero, it STAYS at zero and you don't hear the instrument. Even if I try to manually change it, it fights me and goes right back down. Very frustrating.

Did you remove the * in the menues
F6 / midi filter rx / tabs mess.
f6 / midi filter tx / tabs mess.

The asterisks prevent the sysex strings
f0 26 7c .... to be executed

I have NO idea what you are talking about, but I'll try to figure it out when my board is set up. Thanks.

To be honest, I forgot to try it. :-)

I have this message saved though, so I will at some point. I've muddled through a lot of issues like this that I've more or less become used to not having the file play correctly. I really should solve the mysteries however. I just hate trying to figure out this board. I get a headache everytime I start.

What they need is big city beginner classes that you can go to and have instructors run you through the whole keyboard. Would solve a LOT of problems.
