need some orientation on ketron - 03/30/07 04:50 PM

Hi Everyone
I was a Yamaha and Korg user for a long, long time...This AUDYA has really piqued my mind..Is sounds like this keyboard is the one to get...I do have a concern about resources for Ketron..I have a ton of questions to ask so I will just ask..
Are the styles backward compatible?
Is there any software out there that can make a style from a midi file?
What is Ketrons history as far as upgrades or bug fixes?
Are there a lot of 3rd party companys that work with Ketron boards?
Are there more Forums that cater to Ketron?
I do appreciate the help or advice.

I guess this answers my concern about the support I would get if I bought a keyboard

This AUDYA has really piqued my mind..
- Guess you're not alone.

Is sounds like this keyboard is the one to get...
- You're right, it sounds great.

I have a ton of questions to ask so I will just ask..
- Regarding AUDYA, guess we all have, and it's still a prototype not ready for sale, so I'm pretty sure more info will come.

Are the styles backward compatible?
- SD1 has buildt i n convert tools for i.e. the MS styles, so my guess is yes.

Is there any software out there that can make a style from a midi file?
- Yes, i.e. EMC Styleworks, and a new version are on the way they say.

What is Ketrons history as far as upgrades or bug fixes?
- Look at www.ketron.it and you'll see. To me they gave great supprt directly by email.

Are there a lot of 3rd party companys that work with Ketron boards?
- Don't know, but are there a lot 3rd party working with other brands boards?

Are there more Forums that cater to Ketron?
- Yes, i.e. at Yahoo Groups. Do a Google search may give some more results.

I do appreciate the help or advice.
- I'm quite new as Ketron user myself, hopefully this is for a little help. There will be more activity around this keyboard as soon as more info popping up, but I think it will be some months before we see it ready for sale.
Btw. Some info and discussion regarding AUDYA are posted at SZ GeneralArranger Forum as well, and I'm sure AJ will add a lot more in not too long time.

Happy Playing and Happy Easter.

Ketron completely updated the SD1 a few years ago, in effect making it an almost entirely new board. I've never heard of anyone else doing that.
There is excellent help available on the Ketron Yahoo forum.
Also, AJ is usually lurking around here, and he does have all the answers.
