JV 2080 with 3 boards but only single patch? - 03/17/01 11:24 AM

Hello people!

Recently i bought myself the JV 2080 and placed the hiphop, techno and dance board in it. Sounds good.
I use cakewalk 9.03 software for the sequencing etc.

Only thing is, i got myself the .ins file from lilchips but i can't seem to get more then one patch sound at a time.

Therefore i am looking for the Omni mode when the synth is in patch mode.

Does anyone knows what i missed? I can only play one patch at one midi channel.

Thanks!

Patches only respond to ONE midi channel.
Performances respond to muliple channels.

Hi,

I guess i have to assign each patch I want to use in an score in cakewalk to a channel within a performance?

So I can't play a patch at midi channel one and another at channel 2 and so on?

I can select a patch per midi channel for the JX305 and the M-DC1. Can't I do that for the 2080 as well?

Thanks

Are you in Performance mode?
Are you trying to edit a ROM performance?
Have you a manual for the JV-2080?

The 2080 should be easier to use than the 1080!
I suggest you pick a user performance,
and set each part to it's own MIDI channel.
The ROM performances from Roland tend to layer patches together, and normal they use MIDI channel 1. (or at least they do on my JV-880). This limits you if you wish to use that performance, as you've either got to use MIDI channel 1, or save it in a user performane and edit it to you requirements.

Dit it! Works ;-) I get it now. Onl thing is, i can't seem to "browse" through the patches like on my groovesynth.

Any idea if that is possible?
