How to adjust velocity - ROLAND JV-1010 - 03/23/02 08:28 PM

I bought this new Miditech Midicontrol controller keyboard hooked up to my JV-1010. I used to have a cheaper midi controller that had a slider, and you could adjust the velocity or touch sensitivity. I'm not a very good player, so I need to adjust that so it doesn't play too quiet if I don't have the chops to hit the note hard enough. Or if I want it to sound like an analog mono synth.
Or if I want to use the Arpeggiator.

It's really annoying to be playing an analog mono synth sound and have it fade in and out or change tone if I play notes hard or easy.

So I am digging in my manual trying to find out the controller number for that adjusttment. I have 12 knobs on the keyboard that I can assign any controller to. I tried expression but that only changes the volume. Nothing seems to work. It's really bugging me.

Help!

Thanks.

Velocity sensitivity on the 1010 is adjusted at the patch level. It's a patch parameter. There's no controller (CC) that affects it.

I have no clue about the Miditech controller. Does it have a forum? You might try there.

Thanks for the help. Maybe the velocity control was built into the old keyboard. That's one big drawback of this new keyboard then. I'll look into the Miditech site.
Doesn't sound good. I wasn't sucessful at getting my SoundDiver to work.
