Expansion ID?

Do Roland expansion boards have a device ID ?

The reason I bring this up is that EDIROL GSAE editor requires a device ID change to work with the SC-880 module I am told (by edirol).

I don't have an SC-880, but have the VE-GSpro equivalent card and GSAE does not see it properly.

My A70 controller can be changed from 17 up to 32, but that is of no help.

I have one A90 with a VEGS expansion

Where I will find a copy of this software to make a test ?

Edirol has various sites worldwide. I don't know if there is a free trial. I paid about 30 USdollars.

The "Device ID" you may be referring to is probably the "Model ID" which refers to the value in the System Exclusive Messages supported by the specific family of synthesizers.
For example, the Super-JVs (JV-1010/1080/2080 and XP-30/50/60/80) is 6Ah, the A-series (A-70 and A-90) is 7Dh, etc.
This is the fourth byte in each sysex string.
Many GM/GS synths have a common Model ID so that the units can respond to the same Sysex Strings which control their internal settings.
