JV-1010 Not Working With XP - 05/21/03 05:17 AM

People,

My Roland JV-1010 is not working with Windows XP (as running on my new Dell 8250.) I had noticed, prior to attempting to install the drivers from the CD-ROM, that NT was listed as the most recent OS.

I installed the NT drivers, assuming I could then go to the Roland site for an upgrade download...& I couldn't seem to locate one (I did find the v102 download, but that seemed to be related to MIDI files only.)

Is there something I have overlooked? Please help.

Thanks,

I don't think you want the NT drivers. Try the Win98 or ME drivers; they might work better. Did you try an automatic, plug&play install. Sometimes XP has drivers pre-installed that will work. I'm not familiar with the 1010 interface, so are you trying to use a parallel MIDI box or USB or "to host" ??? I can run my Roland SC88 with my Yamaha CBX "to host" drivers or my MOTU parallel interface. XP doesn't see the parallel interface unless I start up with it plugged in. Hope one of these ideas works, otherwise email Roland tech support.

I am using the JV1010 just fine on XP. I simply installed the NT driver. I recall I had some problems earlier, but since I made a clean reainstall of my system everything worked nicely.

cassp (& chrisholm),

Thanks.

Using my PC's Serial Port.

Also:

I think that's what I'm running on right now, a typical Windows XP COM 1 Port Driver (WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\serenum.sys.)

Thanks again,
