Korg X5DR or Roland JV1010 ?? - 02/10/00 01:03 PM
Need a unit to give my MIDI compatible Yamaha keyboard richer, better sounds for rock/roll, texas blues band. Found a X5DR for $250. The JV1010 is $450. Is the JV1010 worth the extra money? Need good piano, jazz organ, brass sounds.

There is not a Korg product in ANY price range that can compare with the piano sounds in Roland gear. The X5 is a good synth and pad box, but for solo sounds and studio staples - go for the 1010.The best part about Korg sounds is their effects. Strip away the wash of reverb and you'll see what I mean about the pianos. I do like their organs, though.
