MRT1212,
Right off the bat I will say that I enjoy using mine, but you should compare the N1 with as many other synths as possible. IMHO, organ sounds are the best thing this instrument has to offer (as well as thick, lush synth patches). Piano sounds are useable and ok. My JV1010 also has piano sounds that are probably better. I play real pianos quite a bit so I don't even find the expensive Clavinovas to be all that great. Chorus sounds are certainly plentiful on the N1, and seem to be on many synths & modules. Check out the Roland vocal wave expansion board, for JV & XP series synths. Violin sounds (single or ensemble) are ok on the N1, nothing exeptionaly great, but useable.
