korg X5 with cakewalk - 03/21/02 10:51 AM

Hi all,

I am new to the world of korg. I just purchased a used korg x5 and am having difficulty getting anything but the general midi bank to play off of my computor. I am using midi cables and have windows 98. I plug the midi into my soundblaster card and use cakewalk 9.0 for sequencing. I have tried importing instrument definitions, but can only find those for the x3 which I think are the same. Still, I can only get the general midi bank to play.

Does anyone know if you can switch banks on the korg, or get bank A to play on cakewalk?

Any help might prevent another malicious computor beating.
Thanks

in regards to getting Cakewalk to play other banks, you need to assign them different numbers. Bank A=1, Bank GM=7169 to 7424, Bank GM DRUMS=7937 to 8064.
