GEM keys sucks - 07/22/00 09:34 AM

i own a WK8 i'm very umpleased with the keys i feel they're very hard i know i mentioned that before but last week i went to a music store and checked the equinox just to compare keys then found out that they're the same as in the WK8,are all GEM keys the same way?i have to say this is about the only reason that makes me think of considering using something else otherwise i love my WK8.

All Generalmusic keyboards use Fatar keyboards. These are the same keyboards used in Kurzewil, Solton and many other keyboards.

George
i opened my WK8 one time and took the keyboard apart and i did the same thing to a Roland G600 then i put the 2 key sets next to each other and yes they looked to be made by the same company but the rubber contacts where different colors ,the one on the GEM where a lot harder than the roland's plus i own a kurzweil k2vx and trust me huge difference.
thanks

Eddy,

Fatar are good for piano keys. But if you play oriental music (such as middle-eastern music), I was told you need very soft keys so fingers can play as fast as possible. *smile* Just curious why you need soft keys.

hello there
maybe i'm misexplaining this for example the piano keys are harder but they weighted it's just that the GEM keys feel like they're stuck to your fingers therefore you loose all feeling .
cheers

I did not know that there is an "identical" keyboard in several brands. What keyboard is used in the SK760?
