SK880 A / V & Voc Processor Installation

Does anyone know if the 2 buffer modules supplied with the kit, have to be installed in place of the 16meg simms I have now....
or can keep my memory intact, and throw the buffers away ????

query on WK8 Memory. This covered my request on the SK880 Processor on the same day I asked about it.(but I still don't know why I read Joost's WK8 question, don't figure!)
