Newbie and novice and a little awed - 03/27/07 10:57 AM

I have a Yamaha PSR1000. I recently purchased a midi-usb cable from
Yamahamusicsoft to connect my PSR1000 to my computer (PC + XP).
The cable & drivers installed OK from the CD.

I have purchased the music edititng software "Record
Producer" which I want to use with the keyboard to
compose. I have set up the software to transmit and
receive midi data.

I have looked in the keyboard manual for instructions
for setting up the keyboard to transmit and receive
midi data with the computer and music editing
software. However, there don't appear to be any.

The sort of thing I want to do is play on the keyboard
and read what I play on the computer, edit and save
it.

At the moment, I have the keyboard on, the software open at the notation page, the cable connected and live, but when I play the keyboard nothing happens on the cokmputer.

I would be grateful if you could assist me to find
these instructions.

Thanks.

The PSR's by default send all parts (channels) out through the Midi output, so Midi lead out from PSR to PC Midi in should work.

Other option is use easy record on the keyboard which records everything you play inc. all the accompaniments & fills. Save the file and load into the PC Sequencer.

Thanks, Graham UK.

What I'm looking for is what commands to give the keyboard so it communicates with the PC. I would like to be able to work on notation on the PC in real time.
