John Pizzarelli Trio - 02/09/04 09:15 PM

I just happened to catch this act on "Mountain Stage" the other night. I'm hooked. Has anyone else out there seen them?

Is his old man Bucky still playing with him? I don't know who is in the group these days.

No, Bucky has his own band, but I think I saw another "Pizz" listed on bass.
I've been a fan for 10 years. His Christmas CD is one of my favorites and the Nat Cole tributes re AWESOME !

I don't really like the tone of his guitar though, or maybe it's his amp. Seems thin to me on the B and E strings. I enjoy Bucky's tone much more. Apart from that though, I would agree with Uncle Dave

It's Junior's dry, dynamic treatment of the vocals that attracted me to the sound. It's refreshing to hear a voice that isn't drowning in reverb or effects. It really sounds great.

Gonna pick me up a few CD's if I can find them to listen to while in the hospital. I have never heard such a clean guitarist, and the pianist just blew me away. I managed to catch their rendition of "I Got Rhythm". Simply amazing!!
