I saw them a few months ago on an old replay of the Ed Sullavin show for the first time- the whole family were in stiches!

Within the past few days I stumbled across their greatest hits album. It is totally ridiculous!!!

These guys must go down as the most hilarious and majestically shambolic band EVER!!! I challenge anyone to listen to a single track from their albm with a straight face!

They make Spinal Tap look like Pink Floyd.

It's about time someone talked about these guys. What a band!!!

Wanna really laugh? Check out anything by the late, great, Spike Jones. Some of his material is readily available on the net. I never considered a handgun a musical instrument until I witness this musical genius! As fellow musicians, you owe it to yourselves to experience the "Man who murdered music."

I've got a CD of Spike Jones. Cocktails for Two and Chloe are classics. You never tire of them.

1969, I was visiting my sister on Long Island (Stoney Brook). I bought my first Vanilla Fudge LP. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called or what the cover looked like, but if you ever get an opportunity to hear their rendition of SHOTGUN, I guarantee, it'll blow ya away. The great thing about their sound was, it was ALL them...no back up musicians, no bs overdubbing, what you heard...was what they played.

The Fudge were part of the times. (Flower Power) You Keep Me Hangin On was the hit. It was cool for the time. Rock On !!!!!, David B. How About "Ultimate Spinach"?

The Vanilla Fudge were a great band at the time. All the musicians were considered good players. When I was a teen in the late 60's my band did several of their tunes. I haven't seen the Ed Sullivan clip-maybe the psychedelia, wardrobe and stage histrionics were amusing to you. Everything was possible in the '60's-it was a great time to perform music.

Vanilla Fudge was groovy....especially after dropping a hit of orange barrel sunshine.

I tried to listen to their CD again today, and got so unbelievably bored with that freeform style that I didn't get past the 3rd cut. I appreciate the musicianship, but the writing did not stand the test of time very well. That stuff will never be considered classic rock. It's more of a garage band jam than anything else.

Anyone know the exact model of organ used on "most of their stuff?
