problem with K station

hi all
my K station has basically locked up, when i power it, all the red led's come on and stay on and the lcd screen does the same but with no info, if i hold certain number buttons and start it, i can get some of the lights to flicker on and off [holding certain numberic buttons during startup is a way into the OS] but no function at all. has anyone had the same problem - i fear a trip to the menders approaching....

Check for an internal battery cell that keeps the rom running. Replace it if you find one.

Also try reinstalling the firmware. ALthough I'd check the battery first.
