Outlook Express - 02/15/08 10:50 AM

Hello Folks,
Posted this question on the pc/software etc site but no response so hopefully someone here can give an answer.
A few weeks ago Outlook Express started going into a non response mode and overtime this became more frequent until eventually it packed up altogether.
Took the pc to the repair man and he said that this was caused by excessive build up in the delete folder Archive which had corrupted O.E. He deleted all items from this folder since when have had no trouble.

Altho I delete all unwanted emails regularly, these apparently go into an archive folder and this too has to be emptied from time to time. Can anyone tell me (in simple language please!!) how I do this?

Hi Peter
Every 100 times of using OE, a message will come up asking if you want to compact folders, make sure you always say yes, as this is designed to help prevent the problems you experienced.
Hope this helps

Even if you don't ever see the message, you can periodically compact manually. See: http://www.almersoft.com/products/outlook-express-backup/compacting-outlook-express.ht ml
