I need a good Vocoder Synth for live show

I need a good Vocoder Synth for live show - 07/17/07 11:28 PM

I just finished a new record with my band ( http://www.halostereo.com ) and we put a few vocoder parts in it. However, we used an Orange vocoder plug-in. So to play the parts live I'm looking for a really good vocoder synth *WITH A MIC* attached to the keyboard.

I'm digging the new Korg R3 but I wanted to see if I could get out cheaper and maybe even better. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The Korg MicroKorg is probably your best option. It is cheap ... it has a vocoder with mic attached. It just has little keys but that shouldn't be a problem. Check it out.

Actually, I tried that one but it really paled in comparison to Korg's new R3. And I don't dig the baby keys at all..makes it hard to play. Know of anything else?

You could look at a used Roland JP8000 or the rack mount version JP8080. It is a very nice virtual analog synth with vocoder.

But you may have been spoilt using the Korg R3 .... maybe you'll have to save your bux and get that.
