I have a PCMCIA/Smart Media adapter and have used my SM cards successfully in my PC and my DisCover5. The G70 will not read it, load it, format it, or #%!$ it!

Is there some sort of initialization process I must go thru? I haven't tried the floppy drive yet, so is there anything I need to know there too?

The E 80 according to the manual uses Compact flash and smart media memory cards. they must be 3.3 Volts in sizes of 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256,512MB and 1, 2, and 4 GB. The 2 and 4 GB only with Microdrive.
Smart media is Toshiba Corp and compact flash is San Disk Corp.
I bought a Generic PCMCIA to Compact flash Adapter for 10.00, and put a compact Flash San disk Extreme III that is 1 GB with a speed of 20 MB/sec = 133X. It cost 40.00.
I put them together, pushed them into the keyboard, and then did a format and they work fine.
Somebody made a post that said they had a PCMCIA SD card adapter and they were using sd cards they had from the Technics keyboards. I am looking for that adapter as I have a bunch of SD cards from my Technics keyboard days.

Has anyone seen or used a PCMCIA to USB adapter? Could you then use a USB flash drive to store your info? I think that would be a valuable solution, if it works.
