Can experienced users of the G1000\EM2000 give me some input on any suggested favourite EFFECTS setting for the ARRNG (backing styles). After many years with the Korg i3 & i30 I am used to more presence from the backings than the Roland is giving on default.

The following tip was given a while back and is excellent for the overall sound.

Go to RTIME \ EFFECTS \ PAGE to EQUALISER and set 200hz +3. 3k +6. This gives a little more presence to the in built Amplifier & Speakers and is also a good setting if using external Amplifier & Speakers if not overdone.

Graham,
Another thought is to use the EQ only on the drums part - set it to give you the sizzle that it lacks, and turn it off of all the other parts. It's very easy to do this, and enables you to treat the drums as a separate channel in the mix. Now, anytime you need to make a quick adjustment - only the drums will be affected.

I change the effect settings for different performances depending on style and sounds used. If you save the performace, it stores these settings aswell.
So there is not one effect setting that I use but different ones for each performance memory.

Uncle Dave. Thank you I will give the EQ a try with the Drums only.

arnothijssen. Thank you also, I understand about different effects needed for different arrangements.
I can get some very nice sounding effects on the RTIME parts (melody), but the number of effects available on the ARRNG appear limited in comparison. Also taking into account that the DSP Active is only available for the Real-Time parts which could be a reason.

Your responses are appreciated.

If you send the Bass to output 3 on the G1000 and send to it's own channel on your mixer you have independent contol of the Bass, both EQ and volume. I would do this on any Arranger KB that gave me the option. You do not have the ability to do this on the EM2000.
