Depending on the gig, I've been using a Peavey PA (600 Series), with either 2 Cerwin Vega 15" speaker cabinets or 2 off-brand 12" speaker cabinets (plus a small powered spot monitor). Sometimes, in an attempt to conserve setup space and have less pieces to connect I've been using my Peavey KB300 (a heavy amp). Since my one-person-band brings with it the one-person carry in, setup, tear down, carry out, I'm looking for a good compromise of weight, size, complexity, and sound quality. Any ideas?

I just use the PSR9000 and 2 powered JBL Eon speakers.

Hello!

I would definitely recommend Solton Active Light Integrated (ALI). Look at www.solton.de for more information (click on solton the first link for the products).

Hello dear friends,

For a few years I bought 2 JBL EON15P's and we (our 2-man band) were pretty exited about the sound quality and low weight.

However.... after listening 10 minutes to the SRM450 speakers (Mackie 450 Watts real power) the EON-'love' was totally over ;-)

Since a couple of months we use the Sound Reinforcement Speakers and they sound superb.
(A lot more power, unbelievable low and clear sound)

Our 'band-sound' improved that much, people make compliments and tell us they sound fantastic in a wiiiiiidde range.
The SRM450 is about the same price as the EON15P's, have the double power, a smaller size and the weight is about 23 kg.

I've heard the Mackies and agree they sound very good, probably better than the EON 15's, but the Eons sound good, and they weigh much less (39 pounds each). They have enough power to handle everything venue I play. Weight is very important to me because I'm old and fat and there's just one person in the band.
