Donny thank you, thank you. I lived through the accordion days. In my school accordion was the instrument of choice. We had accordion bands, duets and even a guitar accordion duo. (Brothers)

Three of my closest friends played accordions before the bought an arranger keyboard. The ex-accordion players had an advantage on a keyboard; they a great right hand. They also learned to play without looking at her hands. (Nice)

I remember walking into the Swan Club in Long Island --- the musician was singing and playing contemporary music. I was surprised to see him playing an accordion; it was midi to a module – Left hand – single bass notes – left hand chords – right hand whatever. He could combine the midi with the accordion acoustic sound. Play a bellow shake against sax solo. CLASS ACT!

Certain types of music sounds best when played with an accordion; Waltzes, polkas, classical, and ROMANTIC music. No it is no longer the chosen instrument; but it should not be forgotten.

My favorites were the French waltzes.
Thanks again Donny, John C.

If you want the most advanced accordeon sounds in your arranger...the choice is Wersi OAX1

I use a wersi pegasus 2+ sound module for orchestral strings and ketron sd4 for everything else. Third midi out to keyboard for rhythms makes it tricky..

Nice.........very, very nice. I'd venture to say, if you had your eyes closed and listened to a good accordion player you'd change your mind real fast about the "accordion stigma!" I'd rather listen to an accordionist play jazz (using the lower reeds like the old Sano) than a B3 player (well, I wouldn't go that far).

Does anyone know anything about the song he's is playing? Or is that a "style" of Russian music. I can't get a clear image on my screen. Is he playing "walking bass?" What's the other player doing?

I used to get a lot of mileage out of this one when I played it in Europe.

The song is a Shakatak tune, "INVITATION".

Shakatak, Invitation.

You'll fall in love with their funky jazz.
