In my search to connect my Nephews Roland G70 to their Ipad, i encoutered this Device its a midi to USB converter.. Seems nothing special..

Untill i noted the audio passtrough function. this box allows you to connect 2 oldfashioned DIN5 midi devices, an ipad and a PC/Mac. But thats not everything, it has 4 channels of audio to the PC and the IoS device including routing. So basically i can send 4 channels of audio from PC to IPad and back, allowing you to use effects from MAc on an Ipad audio device. (there is also a 4 device version)

the device is only $90

Now imagine such a device implemented into your arrangers, you could use effects and sounds of your PC or ipad and mix them on your arranger, even use the arranger effects on the remote sounds. Or just send an Organ sound to your PC where a high quallity rotary and chorus effect could be added.. at the price of the current hardware i think its a no brainer to put this technollogy into an arranger..
