I will have a Mackie 808s system set up for an outdoor gig tonight.
I want to use my full rangeCarvin amp for a monitor speaker either behind or in front of me.

I will come out of the monitor section of the Mackie.

I've been told to plug into the Carvin amp for a monitor into the mic 1/4" channel.

Then I was told that the mic 1/4" jack on the Carvin Amp could over heat this way and that it would be better to plug into the effects return on the back of the Carvin amp.thanks again for any help.
Boo

I will check back often.

Boo, it shouldn't overheat anything if you're coming out of the monitor send. Just be sure you aren't overdriving the channel or you will get distortion.

Don I tried it through the effects return jack but it had static (humming) and no volumn control on the monitor.

I plugged into the mic jack and I had no static and the volumn worked.
Thanks again
