In UK 1 year is the standard warranty time , although some manufacturers offer longer eg: my Roland G70 had 3 years

But what when it runs out , does standard home insurance cover them ( i have insured mine as a valuable item) but not sure about small print on policies

Should i get specialist insurance if so where ? if insuring something like a wersi or yamaha stagea they haver to be imported so would they qualify?

It would be useful to share experiences in insuring expensive electric insutruments

Cheers

Tony

Tony ... by 'insuring the kb' do you mean an extended warranty against failure of the instrument, or insurance against theft, fire, etc.
I don't know about the extended warranty, although you can get one for just about any piece of electronic gear, so I wouldn't be surprised if SOMEONE offered an extended warranty for a kb...
As for the other type of insurance, I know that generally in the US, if you use your musical gear professionally, it needs to be specifically insured through your homeowners or other type policy. If you use it only at home, it should be covered by your homeowners policy, just like any other possession.
To be safe, I would have it specifically insured.....
Hope this helps,
t.

Thanks Tony

I am enquiring re: extended warranty type insurance against electrical failure , ie only fire or theft.

I expect my household valuables insurance does not cover electronic failure ...

I have googled and there is musicguard and a few others but no insurance sites explicity say in black and white "we will replace or repair your item if it goes bang" that's what i am looking for ie: a warranty - i expect if such a thing exists it would have to be taken out from the date you buy ? Wondering if any manufacturers do this kind of thing - like an extended warranty - but forever ...
