I think its better to use your hand. A pen is ok for those little computer diaries...but for a keyboard it may be frustrating to have to use a pen....

Claudiu,
I can understand your wanting to use a pen for the screen. I've never really been a big fan of touch screens. Although I did have one on my Korg Trinity. I was very picky with the screen because I didn't want it scratched and so on. I bought a simple stylus pen used for PDA's. It worked well for me unless I was gigging.

If you're using your VA at home I'd suggest any simple stylus you can buy at a local WalMart, Radio Shack, and other department stores (would be found in the electronics department). They're also inexpensive. The one I bought was large (size of a ball point writing pen). It as that large because it was a combination ball point pen and stylus. If you prefer the smaller PDA stylus you can get that as well.

Now if you're playing out somewhere I wouldn't suggest the stylus. It will slow you down when it comes to making changes on the fly. Reason is if you're playing live and you select something on the screen with the stylus you have to put the stylus down before you can resume playing with both hands. Very cumbersome and time consuming when needing to make changes on the fly.
