I was talking to someone who brought up an interesting idea... Wouldn't the PSR-2000/2100 be awsome if they came out with a 76 key and 88 key version. Meaning just use the same keybed from the DGX300/500... I had a chance to play the DGX300 again yesterday and I loved the keys on that compared to my PSR-550.. The action also felt a little better to me. I honestly think the grand piano in the DGX300 sounds better than my 550.. Anyways was curious what others would think about a 76 and 88 key version PSR 2k or 21k.

Excellent idea IMO. Just make sure you give us internal speakers Yammie! In the 76 Key version at the very least! And don't forget the Octave Switch like Korg is giving us with the Pa1XPro. And please give us true Full size Keys, will ya? And the icing would be the Key bed feel of a Motif ES7/8.

Best regards,
Mike

I think it would be great but they also had to add aftertouch which is absolutely necessary for a home player.
The pianosample of DGX-300/500 is the same as in 9000Pro.

I would pay money for a 76 note PSR2100.

A 76 note PS2100 with an extra RH keyboard zone would see me reaching for my wallet without consulting the wife!

Aftertouch is a nice thought but unchievable without a redesign that would involved replacing the entire keyboard mech with something of PSR9000proTyros standard and I don't see that happening except maybe to the Tyros that is.. an 88 note Tyros would be interesting but I think the price tag would be very serious.

One of the reasons I like my 76 note 9000Pro is Excellent key feel, and the extra right hand split. The PSR9000 & 9000Pro has 2 right hand splits giving me 3 separate right hand partitions. They left this extra spit off the Tyros.

hi Squeak

it would be great for us like you say to have a PSR2100 with a DGX500 keyboard but its not going to happen. who would buy a Yamaha Clavinova if there was a PSR2100/DGX500 type of keyboard available ?
Yamaha is not there to serve your needs, its there to make money. thats why theres no hard disk in the PSR2100 they want you to buy a Tyros, its always a marketing plan.

Squeak_D,
I was thinking the same thought myself. I would be very interested in a 76 note PSR2100. I am using the piano voice more and more and some piano pieces reach down to the C1-B1 area of the keyboard, so I need to use the octave function to get down there. I was also wondering if anyone has ever customized a PSR2000. i.e. Take the keybed of a Roland keyboard and exchange it for the Yamaha's keybed. Ops.. Hey. Why doesn't it fit? The Roland keybed is slightly longer then the Yamaha. Rats. If the Tyros has room on either end of the keyboard, why not put in a 76 note keybed? It would mean some cutout, but for someone who is mechanically inclined?? Why not?

No third split? Thats the Tyros off my "If I saw this at the right price I could be tempted" list. Looks like I'm only ever going to upgrade to a 9k then!
